CoRIC details

Introduction

CoRIC is a new competition category introduced under the NRIC 2011. CoRIC stands for Community Research and Innovation Competition. CoRIC is initiated to engage research and technology to community. The ultimate aim is to educate and prepare students to pitch their research idea and innovation that can be commercialized and valuable towards the industries, societies and mankind.

 

Concept: The power of idea

  • What is the existing present day’s problem/issue that leads you to create this idea?
  • How can you solve the problems/issues?
  • Is your solution creating value, sustainable and can be commercialized?

 

How to Participate:

  1. Form a team (2-3 student and 1 mentor)
  2. Submit the registration form by email to nric.usm.my and cc to masyaothman@gmail.com with a 1-page Executive Summary by:

    Presentation Duration: 2 minute

Format of the Executive Summary:

  • 1 page only (A4 paper)
  • Single spacing
  • Font 11- Arial
  • Margin 1 inch all sides

 

Rules and Regulation

  • Each institution of higher learning can ONLY register for one team.
  • Form a multi-disciplinary* team consisting of 2 and maximum 3 students plus 1 mentor. [*eg: combination of art, science, medical, engineering or 'hybrid' disciplines]
  • Create NEW IDEA that has a commercial value and positive impact to the community.
  • No product is required; each team ONLY delivers a verbal presentation to convince the judges that their idea can be commercialized.
  • Pitch your idea to judges in 2-5 minute presentation.
  • The Judging Panel reserves the right to disqualify any entry.
